Who We Are

We are a mixed bunch of people who love to hostel, walk, cycle and socialise! One of our main activities is to organise weekends away staying at Youth Hostels, Camping barns and other accommodation throughout the U.K. Trips have included cycling in North Wales, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, mountain biking in Derbyshire, travelling the Settle - Carlisle railway, walking in the Yorkshire dales, the Peak District, Lake District and bird watching in North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. There is also plenty to do at Bretton, Langsett and Meerbrook, our local voluntary hostels. Anyone who wants a real challenge can climb the Welsh 3,000’ mountains in a day or do four 4,000’ mountains in Scotland! or how about some skiing...?! Our walks vary to cover the ability of the members - no one is pushed to do anything they feel uncomfortable with. some prefer the munroes, others the teashop trails!

We have a varied programme of talks, slide shows, quizzes etc. at our Monday evening socials and an assortment of events during the week ranging from sailing, dry slope skiing, evening walks, ten pin bowling to picnics.
